Overlooking the river Shannon, the Radisson SAS Hotel in Athlone offers magnificent views of the marina, the historical cathedral and Athlone Castle. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Athlone town within walking distance of the train and bus station.
We offer 127 rooms including luxurious Suites, all equipped with high-quality amenities including free Broadband Guests have access to Synergy Health & Leisure Club with gymnasium, steam room, aerobics area and an indoor swimming pool. Elements Restaurant serves local and internationally influenced cuisine; while the Quayside Bar & Lounge offers light meals and snacks alongside drinks. Rooms The hotel offers 127 rooms including 4 Executive Suites, 8 Junior Suites and 12 Family Suites. Guests can choose from two themed room styles; Ocean and Urban. A number of our rooms also offers a stunning view of the River Shannon and the old town of Athlone. Non smoking and fully accessible rooms are available upon request.
Elements Restaurant The 140-seater split-level restaurant's design incorporates elemental themes of water, fire, earth and air. The water theme is reflected in the illuminated oceanic themed glass panels, wave shaped room dividers and aqua marine upholstered dining chairs. The fire element is created through a central octagonal island hearth. Earth is mirrored through the well-lit bamboo screens and sand-coloured upholstered chairs and the air element is manifested by creating a sense of spaciousness with white light, ceiling-to-floor windows and an open plan layout. Quayside Bar & Lounge Our Quayside Bar and Lounge has a simplistic yet chic ambiance, which is reflected in the contrasting buttermilk and dark cherry colour scheme, which provides the guest with an extremely comfortably environment in which to relax in and enjoy a drink, from the ever popular Gin and Tonic and Manhattan to our Bar Manager's selection of creative cocktails. It has the added feature of a large adjoining outdoor heated terrace overlooking the River Shannon, from where guests can enjoy a relaxing drink while watching boats cruise up and down the river. Quayside Bar and Lounge is open from mid morning and is the perfect place to enjoy a cappuccino while reading a newspaper or to enjoy a light lunch from our buffet.
